In 2017, Peter’s father Alex revealed that he barely speaks to his famous son Karl Stefanovic after the Today host and his brother Peter ‘walked away’ from him 25 years ago. In a bombshell interview with New Idea, Alex Stefanovic, who was 70 years old by then, claimed he believes Karl is ’embarrassed’ by his father because he is ‘poor’, ‘fat’, and ‘bald’.

The family feud reportedly began when Alex divorced Karl and Peter’s beloved mother Jenny Stefanovic.

Alex maintained that they have not spoken much ‘for 10 years’, and that Karl and Peter ‘sided’ with their mother following the split. The marriage reportedly fell apart after Alex’s failed business venture resulted in them losing the family home, and infidelity was not involved.

“They walked away from me 25 years ago following my divorce from their mother. We’ve barely spoken since. That’s the reality. He’s embarrassed about me because I’m fat, I’m bald and I’m poor,” he told the magazine.
