A native of Cheshire, Amarante’s love of meteorology dates back to childhood, when he was reading weather books and venturing out of the house as a kid during thunderstorms, according to his old bio. He graduated from Western Connecticut State University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in meteorology, and he got his professional start at Springfield, Massachusetts-based WGGB ABC40/FOX6.
